October marks my favorite time of the year.....my birthday, cooler weather, the leaves changing(if you're lucky and don't live in SoCal), and of course Halloween. Easily the best holiday of the year! And really, what's not to like? Candy, costumes, pumpkins and parties. It's a day to just let loose, turn into to someone or something else for a few hours and have fun before the insanity of the christmas season hit us over the head like a ton of bricks.Over at our house, we have our own tradition. Every year we have a large pumpkin carving party. We provide the tools and booze and let everyone take it from there and get creative. So far we've been lucky and no one has lost any fingers(knock on wood). After everyone is done and the sun has set, we line them all up, light em up and admire our creations. It's a beautiful sight to behold.
Unfortunately, some of us aren't very artistic and find it difficult just to carve a simple face with eyes on the damn thing. So those of us, who will remained unnamed, who suffer from a lack of artistic sensibility turn to patterns for help. I know it's lame, but at least I end up with something that looks like something!! And since this year is election year, I thought I would post up links to sites that have really good political patterns. Me, I'm leaning towards the Obama symbol, but I think the McCain ones are way scarier....perhaps I'll do 2!
